This wedding was the kind of day that tugs at your heart in quiet moments and joyful bursts, all at once. It was beautiful in the way that matters most. It wasn’t just the aesthetics (though yes, it was breathtaking). What stood out to me was the intentionality behind their day. Vivienne and Jacob’s Jewish wedding at Temecula Creek Inn was a spring celebration rooted in tradition, family, and heartfelt emotion, and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Ten Years of Love: High School Sweethearts

These two are high school sweethearts who have been together for ten years! That time-tested, steady kind of love showed up everywhere throughout their day. From the way they looked at each other during the ceremony to the tears that flowed freely during speeches, it was evident this wasn’t just a wedding. It was a celebration of a shared life already well underway.

Vivienne and Jacob are incredibly close with their families. So, it felt fitting that they kept their wedding party small and meaningful, choosing only their siblings to stand beside them. That intentionality carried through the entire day. Every choice felt grounded, personal, and reflective of who they are.

A Spring Wedding in Full Bloom: The Best Time for a SoCal Wedding

Spring is hands-down my favorite season to photograph weddings, and this day was a perfect example of why. Temecula in the spring offers mild temperatures, lush greenery, and that golden Southern California light that feels soft without ever losing its glow. Flowers were in bloom, oak trees stretched overhead, and the entire property felt alive but calm. It was the ideal backdrop for a wedding that prioritized connection.

The Moments Between: Emotion, Energy, & Real Connection

Some of my favorite moments from Vivienne and Jacob’s day didn’t happen on a timeline or cue. They happened in between. Stylish guest outfits that felt like an extension of the couple’s taste. Quiet glances exchanged across tables. Hands held during speeches. Laughter through tears. There were so many candid expressions from family and friends during the reception that it was almost impossible to choose favorites. Happy emotions were running high, and I felt completely in my element.

A Family Reunion-Style Wedding Celebration

While so much wedding planning understandably revolves around design and detail, I truly believe that the most cherished photographs, years down the line, are the ones centered on people. It’s rare to have all of your closest friends and family gathered in one place at the same time. That kind of reunion is priceless. I make it my mission to capture as many interactions, reactions, and emotional nuances as possible so that couples can revisit not just how their day looked, but how it felt.

This approach is a huge part of what defines my work. I focus heavily on wedding day interactions and emotional storytelling—often more than the average wedding photographer—because those moments are fleeting and irreplaceable. While editorial compositions and trends have their place, my priority is documenting genuine connections. To do that, I work with a blend of film and digital photography, allowing me to capture both timeless softness and fast-moving, energetic moments with intention.

A Bride’s Perspective

Vivienne later shared in her lovely review:

“Jenny Markham Photography was the perfect choice for our wedding photography. From the beginning, Jenny was open to all of our ideas and easily accessible, making the planning process a breeze. Her whimsical style and ability to capture photos with a sense of emotion and energy were exactly what we were looking for. […] On the day of the wedding, Jenny fit seamlessly into the background, working hard to capture all of the special moments, both big and small.”

Hearing that affirmed everything I aim to do on a wedding day—blend in, stay observant, and document the story as it naturally unfolds.

A Traditional Jewish Wedding Beloved by All

If you’re Jewish or if you’ve ever experienced a Jewish wedding, you know there’s nothing quite like it! Some traditions evoke a sense of reverence and intimacy that have us reaching for tissues, while others, like the hora, bring high-energy celebration. This wedding had it all! Vivienne and Jacob began with their ketubah signing inside The Stone House at The Temecula Creek Inn—a quiet, meaningful space that felt both sacred and cozy.

Their ceremony took place on the green lawn beneath a chuppah shaded by sprawling oak trees. (And yes, they included all the Jewish wedding traditions guests from all backgrounds look forward to: the intimate bedeken (veiling), kiddushin (wine blessings and ring exchange), the reading of the ketubahsheva brachot (seven blessings), and finally, the long-awaited breaking of the glass.

Thanks to the gorgeous weather, the celebration continued all evening outdoors, with cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing all taking place under the open sky. Warm string lights hung above the dance floor, adding a romantic glow as the night unfolded.

A Temecula Creek Inn Wedding Weekend Feel

Let’s talk about this fabulous venue for a sec. Temecula Creek Inn is a Southern California venue that truly shines for couples who want a close-knit, reunion-style celebration, even with a larger guest count. The property offers a wonderful sense of flow while still feeling intimate and grounded in nature.

For SoCal couples considering Temecula Creek Inn, it’s an ideal option if you’re drawn to:

  • Outdoor ceremony and reception spaces
  • A natural, garden-forward setting with mature trees
  • Multiple on-site locations for events throughout the day
  • A relaxed yet refined atmosphere that encourages guests to linger and connect

The venue’s layout makes it easy for guests to move together through the day, reinforcing that communal, celebratory feel that made Vivienne and Jacob’s wedding so special.

Reliving the Day All Over Again

After delivering their gallery, Vivienne sent a message that perfectly captured the emotional weight of the day:

“WE LOVE [THE PHOTOS] SO MUCH!!!!!!! You captured our day so, so perfectly and better than I ever could have imagined. Jacob and I are so happy, crying all over again. I’m truly going to be staring at these forever.”

Mission accomplished! Preserving your moments with care and artistry is my highest goal. I share Vivienne’s words not to brag, but to give curious couples a glimpse into what an experience with me is like.

I know how much trust goes into hiring your vendors, and that you want a team that sees you, shares your vision, and cares about your experience on a personal level. And I take that honor seriously. No two couples are the same, and they shouldn’t be treated as such. I am all-in on your wedding day from the planning stages to the newlywed sendoff: no set templates and rigid shot lists. I’m there to observe and document your special day in a way that I hope someone would do for me.

Mazel Tov to the Happy Couple!

This was truly a day I’ll never forget—full of culture, history, joyful tears, and enduring love. Cheers and mazel tov to Vivienne and Jacob. I hope your wedding will live on in memory, shared stories, and photographs for years to come.
